10-Minute Summer Makeup Routine
Summer is finally here and that means changing up your makeup routine! I always wear a more natural makeup look and I’ve found a lot of brides and bridal parties asking for the same this summer. Smokey eyes are not as common this season and more clients are asking for a fresh face with glowing skin. These are my favorite products and tips on how to achieve this look in literally 10 minutes!
I love this moisturizer for so many reasons! It is a natural brand with a few ingredients. It hydrates your skin without leaving it greasy and it also minimizes the look of pores. I shop this brand locally and purchase it all from Inde Salon and Skincare (also where I get facials)!
Step 2: Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara
I have tried every high-end mascara there is and I always come back to this one! I usually curl my lashes for a few seconds and then apply mascara.
*I always do any eye makeup first to prevent messing up my face makeup!
Step 3: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer
If there is any product I can’t live without, it’s this! Enough coverage to even out my skin tone while still sheer enough to give you that “no-makeup makeup look.”
*If you are someone who prefers a fuller coverage with more longevity, my absolute favorite is Dior Skin Forever. I use this on all of our brides (and myself on the weekends) because you can totally customize the coverage. I personally love when you can see someone’s freckles through a foundation - it makes the look so much more natural and doesn’t completely change their appearance. Of course, I do have some brides that want total coverage and this foundation is awesome for that too. It’s also the best during the summer heat - my skin is definitely on the oily side and I rarely even use a setting powder because this stuff stays on forever!!
Step 4: L.A. Girl Concealers
Five dollars a tube and absolutely amazing! I use one for my under eye and then a darker one as my contour/bronzer. I use the shade “Creamy Beige” for my under eye because it has a slight orange undertone to counteract blue-toned dark circles.
Now for my favorite part: cream contour. So much less complicated than people think and really makes a difference! I use the same concealer but in the shade “Almond.” I do a few swipes at the top of my cheek bone and drag it down a couple of inches. Then blend away with a beauty blender! I tap the beauty blender rather than smudge it so that the contour stays in place. This also gives it a less harsh look (not a Kardashian contour by any means) and more of a sunkissed, bronzey glow.
Step 5: NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo
Not always necessary but adds a little something if you want to be more made up. I’ll bronze over the cream contour I did in step 4 just to set it and deepen it, and then I’ll tap some blush right on the top of my cheek bones. I love this NARS duo because the bronzer is more matte while the blush has a little shimmer - so you basically get a built-in highlight. The color combo I use is "Orgasm/Laguna."
Step 6: NARS Afterglow Lip Balm
OBSESSED!! I am not a lipstick girl so I always go for more of a gloss. I love this product because it pretty much just enhances your natural lip color and gives you a little shine. This is in the color “Orgasm.”
*this is a little more pricey for a lip balm so here’s a cheaper one that does the exact same thing: Kiko Lip Me Lots PH Lip Enhancer.
Voila! If you need this look to last, spritz yourself with Urban Decay’s De-Slick Setting Spray and you’re good to go!
